This Privacy Policy explains how RockstarCV (“RockstarCV,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), the operator of rockstarcv.com, collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit the website, create an account, purchase a product, use the RockstarCV Resume Builder, contact us, or otherwise use our services (collectively, the “Services”).
Please read this Policy before using the Services. If you do not agree with it, please do not provide personal information or use the Services.
1. Who is responsible for your information
RockstarCV is responsible for the personal information it determines how and why to process through the Services. Questions, privacy requests, and complaints may be sent to contact@rockstarcv.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your name, username, email address, password credentials in protected form, and account preferences.
- Purchase and transaction information: billing details, country or region, products purchased, order history, payment method identifiers, and transaction status. Payment providers process full card or financial account details; RockstarCV does not store full card numbers or security codes on its website.
- Resume Builder information: the content you enter or import, such as contact details, profile statements, employment history, education, skills, certifications, links, and other resume content; layouts and design choices; saved resumes; uploaded photographs and images; and generated exports.
- AI Tailor information: if you choose to use AI Tailor and give the consent requested in the tool, the text from the current resume and the job description or brief you provide.
- Communications: information you provide through contact forms, support requests, surveys, comments, testimonials, or other communications.
A resume may contain sensitive or special-category information. Please include only information that is necessary for your job application and that you have the right to use. Do not include government identification numbers, financial account details, health information, or information about another person unless it is genuinely necessary and lawful.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically receive technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, date and time of access, cookie or similar identifiers, and security or diagnostic events. The site currently uses Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager and may use WordPress.com, Jetpack, Akismet, Bing, or similar tools for analytics, performance, security, spam prevention, and webmaster functions.
Information from other sources
We may receive payment confirmation, fraud or risk signals, account connection details, and transaction information from payment and commerce providers. We may also receive information when you sign in through or interact with an integrated third-party service.
3. How the Resume Builder handles your content
- Saved resumes and profile information are associated with your authenticated account and stored in our WordPress-based service.
- Customer-uploaded resume images and profile photographs are separated from ordinary site media in a customer upload area. Each customer’s folder is keyed to the customer’s internal numeric user ID, not the public username.
- Accepted image types are JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP. The current upload limit is 1 MB per image. Accepted images are optimized and stored as WebP, with a storage target of no more than 512 KB and a maximum dimension of 1,600 pixels.
- Supported resume-import documents may be limited to 8 MB. The editor will display the applicable limit before upload.
- PDF or other exports are generated when you request them. Downloaded copies are then under your control and may remain on your device, browser download history, cloud storage, email account, or any destination you choose.
- AI Tailor is optional. When you activate it and provide the requested consent, RockstarCV sends a text-only projection of the current resume and your job brief to the OpenAI API so it can return an analysis and suggested edits. RockstarCV configures the request not to store the response as OpenAI application state, and RockstarCV’s AI module does not persist the returned analysis. OpenAI may retain limited abuse-monitoring logs under its own API data controls. AI output can be inaccurate and should be reviewed before use.
4. Why we use information and our legal bases
- To provide the Services and perform our contract: create and secure accounts; save, edit, display, and export resumes; provide purchased template access; process orders; deliver digital products; and provide support.
- For our legitimate interests: operate, maintain, troubleshoot, improve, and protect the Services; understand usage; prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; enforce our terms; and keep appropriate business records, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- With your consent: run AI Tailor, use non-essential cookies or analytics where consent is required, and send optional marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already completed.
- To comply with law: maintain tax, accounting, transaction, and compliance records; respond to lawful requests; protect legal rights; and meet consumer, privacy, and security obligations.
5. When we disclose information
We disclose only the information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose, including to:
- Hosting, site, commerce, and security providers, including Automattic and its WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Jetpack, Akismet, and related services.
- Payment providers, including WooPayments and its payment-processing partner Stripe, PayPal, and any local payment method you select. Payment providers may act as independent controllers and apply their own privacy terms.
- AI providers, specifically OpenAI, only when you choose to run AI Tailor and provide the requested consent.
- Analytics, font, and technical providers, including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Fonts, and Bing services where those features are active.
- Professional advisers and authorities when reasonably necessary to obtain advice, protect rights or safety, investigate misconduct, comply with law, or respond to valid legal process.
- A successor or transaction counterparty in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the service, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
We do not sell your resume content or customer-uploaded files. We do not disclose resume content to employers or recruiters unless you choose to download, send, publish, or otherwise share it.
6. Third-party privacy information
Third-party services process information under their own terms and privacy practices. Their policies can change independently of RockstarCV. Relevant resources include the Automattic Privacy Policy, PayPal Privacy Statement, Stripe Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy, and OpenAI Privacy Policy.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies and similar technologies may be used to keep you signed in, maintain a shopping session, remember preferences, secure the site, prevent fraud, measure performance, and understand traffic. Some are necessary for the Services to work; others may depend on your choices or consent. You can control cookies through any consent tool displayed on the site and through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent account, cart, checkout, or Resume Builder features from working correctly.
8. International transfers
RockstarCV and its providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live, including the United States. Where required, transfers are based on appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, provider data-protection terms, or another lawful transfer mechanism. You may contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.
9. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including while your account or saved resumes remain active, and for any additional period required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security, backup, or legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information, the sensitivity and risk, why it is needed, and applicable law.
Deleting a resume or account may not immediately remove every copy from backups, logs, transaction records, or a provider’s systems. Those copies are restricted and removed or anonymized according to applicable retention cycles unless they must be kept by law. Payment providers retain payment information under their own policies.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including authenticated access controls and separation of customer uploads from ordinary site media. No website, transmission, storage system, or provider is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using a strong, unique password, protecting your device and account, and signing out on shared devices.
11. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing; receive a portable copy; withdraw consent; and complain to a privacy or data-protection authority. You may also have rights concerning targeted advertising or certain disclosures. These rights can be subject to legal exceptions.
You can edit much of your account and resume information through the Services. To exercise another right, email contact@rockstarcv.com. Please identify the account or email involved and the request you are making. We may need to verify your identity before acting. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority where you live, work, or believe a violation occurred.
12. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. A person must be at least 18 or the age of legal majority where they live to make a purchase or enter a binding agreement, unless a parent or legal guardian lawfully acts for them. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information.
13. Links and services we do not control
The Services may link to job platforms, social networks, payment providers, or other websites that RockstarCV does not control. This Policy does not govern those independent services. Review their privacy notices before sending them information.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when the Services, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and change the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide any additional notice or choice required by law.
15. Contact us
